The art of recycling gives birth to many intelligent recipes even with desserts: we demonstrate it once again with this chocolate water cake

It’s not only a smart way to recycle leftover Easter eggs, but also to prepare a light dessert, ideal for breakfast, as a snack, at the end of a meal, always.

cake

This is our version of the chocolate water cake that can be prepared with dark, white, milk or other varieties.

And since there are no other dairy products, it is also ideal for those who follow a vegan diet.

Chocolate water cake, ready in less than an hour

The chocolate water cake does not contain butter and milk, except that of chocolate, nor eggs. So we can also store it outside the refrigerator, under a glass bell, for 3 or at most 4 days.

Ingredients:
220 g of 00 flour
60 g of dark chocolate
50 g of bitter cocoa
1 sachet of baking powder
200 g of sugar
300ml of water
140 ml of seed oil
1 vial of vanilla flavouring

Cake preparation

We sift a large bowl together Flour, then immediately add the sugar, baking powder and 30 grams of cocoa powder. We begin to mix all the powders well with a spatula until they are blended.
Let’s untie thedark chocolate in a bain-marie, making sure that the water never reaches the edge of the bowl. A few drops of water in dark chocolate would be enough to ruin everything and tear it apart.
When the chocolate is melted, pour it into a different bowl together with the water and seed oil (corn or sunflower) and mix everything well with an electric whisk. We work the mixture at medium speed until it is blended.

At that point all we have to do is combine the two compounds, pouring the liquid one into the flour one. Then we always go on working with electric whisks to obtain a creamy but not liquid compound.
We take a 22 cm cake pan, cover the base and the sides with a sheet of parchment paper and then pour the chocolate water cake mixture, leveling it with the spatula. Preheat the oven to 180° and cook the cake for 35 minutes, checking with a toothpick at the end if it is cooked.
Once this check is done, remove the pan and wait until it is completely cold before taking it out of the oven. We put it on a serving plate and decorate it with a sprinkling of the bitter cocoa that we have left over.
