  • Ingredients
  • 60 g of chopped almonds
  • 50 g of egg
  • half a kg of cake flour
  • 50 g of cocoa powder
  • 200 g of light butter
  • 80 ml of semi-skimmed milk
  • 200 g of icing sugar
  • 16 g of vanilla baking powder for cakes
  • a pinch of salt
  • organic orange peel to taste
  • sugar loaf stars ready to complete

Homemade pan di stelle biscuits, procedure

In a kitchen mixer blend the flour with the baking powder, salt, sugar, cocoa and butter. Incorporate the almonds, the milk combined slowly and, lastly, the egg and the very finely grated citrus zest. Shape the dough into a ball and leave it to rest for 30 minutes wrapped in cling film in the fridge.

After the necessary time, roll out the shortcrust pastry to have a sheet of mixture that you coat with a small glass. Place the dough shapes obtained, at the right distance from each other, on a dripping pan lined with paper and cook them at 180° for 20 minutes. Once cooked, take the biscuits out of the oven and let them cool before brushing their surface with water and decorating them with sugar paste stars. let the sweets rest the necessary time to let them dry and serve them.
