Homemade puff pastry: you need a few simple ingredients

The puff pastries are really good, impossible not to be tempted. You will need puff pastry, egg whites, icing sugar and jam, I prefer apricots. If you want you can try them for breakfast with a cup of milk or coffee, if you prefer to enjoy them in the afternoon as a snack then accompany them with a cup of tea.

Ingredients for about 20 puff pastries

  • 1 roll of rectangular puff pastry
  • 100 g of apricot jam
  • 75 g of icing sugar
  • 35 g of egg white

Method

In order to prepare this delicacy it takes only 5 minutes, put the egg white in a bowl (follow the trick to separate it well from the yolk), add the icing sugar. We take a spatula and mix quickly, so as to obtain a fairly thick mixture.

Then we take the puff pastry from the fridge, unroll it and place it on a baking tray, but do not remove the parchment paper. With a pastry wheel, we obtain strips of the same size.

With a brush we brush with the mix of egg white and sugar, with the jam we decorate the surface, you have to form many X’s. We then transfer to the hot oven and let it cook at 180° for 20 minutes, until they are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and then let it cool before serving.
