You don’t dirty anything and you get a perfect result in just a few minutes: there’s no need to waste energy to cook boiled potatoes

Five minutes, just five to boil the potatoes without dirtying anything. It seems like just a dream, but it’s a beautiful reality if we know how to move. We don’t need pots, but not even water: just raw materials, natural, to eat everything in purity.
The guidelines for proper nutrition strongly recommend consuming at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day. But in all this, how to include potatoes, which are different in calories and nutritional value

It is no coincidence that they fall into the group of cereals and their derivatives and are therefore considered an important source of carbohydrates. This is why experts recommend eating them once or twice a week, considering that a portion of potatoes corresponds to 200 grams. So we can eat them instead of bread, pasta or other cereals, but not together.
On the other hand, however, they do not contain gluten and are therefore considered an excellent alternative for people who suffer from celiac disease. However, this is provided that we alternate them on our table with other ingredients such as rice, corn or buckwheat.

For those who don’t have high blood sugar problems, are overweight or don’t have celiac disease, potatoes are simply a side dish. Combined with a second course of meat or fish, plus a portion of vegetables, they are therefore a complete meal. And if we cook them this way, they are also lighter and more nutritious.

Boiled potatoes without stove, with half the time: the trick is an appliance that we all have

potatoes

All of this makes us love potatoes even more. But what if there was a way to cook them healthy, light and stress-free, in just a few minutes. Wouldn’t that be better? There’s no point in using the conditional, it’s better to know that this method exists.

In practice we only need the raw material, a microwave oven and a sheet of cling film. But it must be the one that doesn’t burn when we use it in the microwave, because it will be our special trick for perfect cooking. So read carefully on the packaging, because whoever produces it is obliged to write it.
Let’s start by washing the potatoes, even if we cook them without the peel. Then we peel them and cut them into cubes, as regular as possible. When we’re done, we rinse them under running water and dry them.

We put them in a large deep dish trying to spread them well so that they are not overlapping. There’s no need to salt or season them, that’s something we’ll do later. All you need to do is cover the plate with transparent film, making it adhere well to the edges.
We put the dish in the microwave and let it cook for 5-6 minutes at maximum power. In practice, the humidity that will form under the film will help cook the potatoes perfectly. Once that time has passed, touch them with the tines of the fork. If it sinks well but without breaking them, then we are at the right point.
We take the dish out of the microwave and immediately remove the film. Let it cool and then move on to using them. They can become croquettes, meatballs, but also remain like this, seasoned with extra virgin olive oil, salt, fresh pepper and aromatic herbs such as parsley, marjoram or chives.
